Prof. Ph.D. Elvira Vidović has been working at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Petroleum and Petrochemistry Department, since 1997. At the same Faculty, she received her master's degree in 2001 with a work entitled "Rheological additives of mineral lubricating oils based on styrene and methyl methacrylate copolymers" under the mentorship of prof. Ph.D. Zvonimir Janović. She received her doctorate in 2006 at the DWI Institute-RWTH Aachen University (Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen) Germany with a doctoral thesis entitled "The development of bioabsorbable hydrogels on the basis of polyester grafted poly(vinyl alcohol)", under the mentorship of prof. emer. Ph.D. Hartwing Höcker. In 2008, she was elected to the scientific-teaching position of assistant professor in the field of technical sciences, in the field of chemical engineering / chemical engineering in material development. She was elected to the scientific-teaching title of associate professor in 2013, to the scientific-teaching title of full-time professor in 2018, and from 2023 she is a permanent full-time professor. Scientific activity of prof. Ph.D. Elvira Vidović includes the research of polymerization reactions and the characterization of prepared polymers, polymer composites and polymer solutions. Synthesis and modifications of polymer materials and hydrogels, studies of their degradation, as well as the preparation of biocompatible and biodegradable materials are a significant part of the research work. She trained scientifically in numerous international institutes. She stayed in the R&D laboratory of Bayer AG in Leverkusen, Germany, from June to September 2000. She stayed at DWI-RWTH Aachen, Germany from 2002-2005 during the PhD work. She stayed at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 2014 and 2019, and spent 2017 as a visiting scholar at that Institute. At the CADAI AYYAD University Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of Marrakech, Laboratory of Organometallic and Macromolecular Chemistry - Composites Materials, she was a visiting scientist in 2018, 2022 and 2023. She was a visiting scientist at the National National University of Uzbekistan "Mirzo Ulugbek", Faculty of Chemistry, Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2023, and at the Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PPCL), Austria in 2024.
