AIM OF THE COURSE: The aim of the Technical Thermodynamics course is to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the basic principles of thermodynamics and their application in various processes. The course focuses on thermodynamics as a key area in engineering disciplines, especially in the fields of energy, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and other related fields.

DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS' GENERAL AND SPECIFIC COMPETENCES:
Acquiring specific knowledge needed to solve practical thermodynamic problems.

OBLIGATIONS OF STUDENTS IN CLASSES AND METHODS OF PERFORMING THEM:
Students are required to attend lectures and seminars. Students have the right to take the exam through partial colloquia.

CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING A SIGNATURE:
Attendance at a minimum of 75% of all lectures and seminars.

1. explain the basic principles of chemical engineering in the areas of modeling and simulating chemical reactions, processes of matter and energy transfer, and separation processes
2. to define chemical engineering problems, which includes their analysis and formulation for solving by applying basic principles
3. choose appropriate methods of analysis, modeling, simulation and optimization
4. explain the principles of process design methods
5. critically use literature in printed and online form to collect the necessary information for solving chemical engineering problems
6. apply techniques and methods with awareness of their limitations
7. demonstrate the ability to learn independently and recognize the need for lifelong education
