DESCRIPTION OF THE MANNER OF PERFORMANCE OF OBLIGATIONS
Preparation of an independent seminar paper related to a topic of scientific or professional interest for a student. Oral presentation of seminar work. Written exam.

LEARNING OUTCOMES AT COURSE LEVEL
1. To evaluate critically chemical properties and reactivity of heterocycles considering the type of heteroatoms in the structure.
2. To create synthetic routes for given classes of heterocyclic compounds to be used in the candidates own research, along with the subsequent interpretation of the proposed routes.
3. To evaluate proposed methods for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds.
4. To suggest pharmacophores in bioactive heterocyclic natural and synthetic products based on candidates own previous research.
5. To evaluate the importance of the application of heterocyclic compounds in industry and technology.
6. To present systematized results of the literature survey on heterocycles to competent audience.

LEARNING OUTCOMES AT PROGRAM LEVEL
1. To systematise knowledge, skills and competences for the respective field and academic area of the programme of study
