Biography

Dino Skendrović was born on August 18, 1989. in Zagreb. In 2012., he enrolled at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Environmental engineering, after which he continued his education in graduate studies in the same field. The graduate thesis entitled "Mathematical model of aldol addition catalyzed by D-fructose-6-phosphate aldolase" was prepared under the mentorship of prof. Ph.D. Zvjezdana Findrik Blažević. He graduated in 2018., with the title of Master in Environmental Engineering. Since 2019., he has been working as an assistant at the Department of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb. He also enrolled in the post-graduate doctoral study in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, and is writing his doctoral thesis "Aldolase immobilization for sustainable production of statin side-chain precursors" under the mentorship of prof. Ph.D. Ana Vrsalović Presečki. The main areas of his research are the synthesis of mesoporous materials and magnetic nanoparticles, enzyme kinetics and enzyme immobilization in order to improve enzyme characteristics. During his doctoral studies, he published two original and internationally peer-reviewed scientific papers, and participated in numerous conferences with posters and oral presentations.
