Description:
|
Specific types of corrosion in focus of recent scientific research: microbiologically influenced corrosion, corrosion in the nuclear industry, corrosion of cultural heritage.
Development of new advanced and ecologically acceptable corrosion protection methods: green corrosion inhibitors, vapour phase corrosion inhibitors, self-healing coatings, adhesion promoter coatings, multifunctional coatings.
Modern techniques in corrosion analysis (electrochemical, spectroscopic and microscopic methods).
Numerical modelling in corrosion, Application of scientific methods in analysis of corrosion failures and assessment of corrosion risks.
|
|
Learning outcomes:
|
- To present the latest findings from the selected area of corrosion problems based on a survey of relevant literature.
- To evaluate critically the applicability and relevance of certain experimental techniques in the analysis of the selected corrosion problems
- To analyse the possibility of occurrence of various types of corrosion defects in the given corrosion conditions.
- To predict the mechanism of corrosion processes in particular corrosion environments.
- To evaluate the applicability of some of the new methods of corrosion protection in certain corrosion conditions.
