Members of the WearSense project team participated in Europt(r)ode XVII, held from 29 March to 1 April 2026 in Jena, Germany, bringing together researchers working on innovative optical chemical and biochemical sensing technologies.

Dr. Deepak Joshy presented “Cellulose Paper-based Optode Device (CPOD) for Reversible, Colourimetric Sensing of pH and Mg²⁺ Ions”, while Iva Karneluti delivered an oral presentation titled “Development of a Biocompatible Cellulose-Based Sensing Film for the Colourimetric Detection of Biomarkers”. She also presented a poster on behalf of Dr. Huma Yilmaz, titled “Development of a Phosphorescent Quantum Dots–Hydrogel Hybrid Material as a Potential Platform for Wearable Sensing”.

Dr. Gerhard J. Mohr contributed with the oral presentation “Synergistic Indicator-Dye / Nanostructure Design for Optical Sensors with Tunable Properties”.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge with the international sensing community and showcase research on innovative materials and optical sensing platforms. These contributions support the WearSense project's mission to advance wearable multimodal sensing technologies for chemical and biochemical monitoring.

The WearSense project is funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (HrZZ) under project IP-2022-10-2595. The team gratefully acknowledges this support, which enables continued research and development in wearable multimodal optical sensing.
