Visit of the Zhejiang University Delegation to the WearSense Team

Visit to the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia

June 25 to July 3, 2026: The visit was organised within the framework of the Croatian–Chinese scientific and technological cooperation programme,

Robust Flexible Biosensing Array and Integrated System for Multiparameter Detection in Biofluids and Personalized Chronic Disease Tracking,

involving the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia, and the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

The Zhejiang University delegation—Prof. Hao Wan, Ms. Yuzi Zeng, and Mr. Chicheng Ma—visited the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology and met with the WearSense research team led by Professor Ivana Murković Steinberg. During the visit, the participants exchanged recent scientific results and technological expertise through lectures, laboratory demonstrations, and joint experimental activities focused on wearable optical and electrochemical sensing platforms.

The teams worked together on the optimisation of printed textile-based sensing platforms, evaluation of optoelectronic sensing systems using tissue phantoms, and the exchange of sensing materials, fabrication techniques, and experimental methodologies. Discussions also focused on the further development of multimodal wearable sensing platforms integrating optical, electrochemical, and enzyme-based sensing technologies.

The visit concluded with the agreement on future collaborative research activities, including the exchange of methodologies and materials, preparation of joint scientific publications, and the continuation of bilateral research within the WearSense project.
