Members of the WearSense team participated in the Young Analysts Forum 2026 (YAF26), held from May 27–28 at the University of Graz and TU Graz in Graz, Austria, where we presented our latest research on wearable colourimetric sensing platforms.

Iva Karneluti delivered an oral presentation titled “Covalent Immobilisation of pH-Sensitive Azo Dyes on Cellulose Substrates for Colourimetric Response Studies”, presenting a cellulose-based sensing material with covalently immobilised pH-sensitive dyes for rapid and stable colourimetric pH detection.

Ivana Perković presented a poster titled “Printed Hydrogel-Based Sensing Platforms on Textile Substrates for Dual pH and Urea Detection”, showcasing printed hydrogel sensors on textile substrates for reversible and visually interpretable pH and urea detection in wearable applications.

At the conference, we were also joined by our WearSense collaborator Gerhard J. Mohr from Joanneum Research, an expert in pH-sensitive dyes and optical sensing systems whose work and materials significantly contribute to the development of our colourimetric sensing platforms.

Both presentations attracted significant interest from the audience, leading to engaging discussions and numerous questions regarding the developed sensing systems, experimental methodology, and potential wearable applications.
