WearSense visit to Zhejiang University, China

Visit to College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou

November 24 to December 2, 2025: The visit was organised within the framework of the Croatian-Chinese scientific and technological cooperation program, 

Robust flexible biosensing array and integrated system for multiparameter detection

in biofluids and personalized chronic disease tracking

involving the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb and College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science, Zhejiang University.

The WearSense team - Ivana Steinberg, Deepak Joshy and Ivana Perković visited Hangzhou and met with Prof. Hao Wan,  Prof. Ping Wang,  and their research group.
Professor Steinberg delivered a seminar on the WearSense project: Wearable Multimodal Optical Monitoring of Biomarkers, outlining the scientific background, methodology, challenges and possibilities of wearable (bio)chemical sensors and emphasised the need for international collaboration in the field of wearable sensor research and development. After the lecture, Prof. Hao Wan guided a tour of the laboratories and the available instrumentation facilities.

The teams worked on joint experimental testing, evaluation and exchange of sensing materials and technologies, and agreed a plan on future collaboration.
