Huawei visit the WearSense team at FKIT

15 September, 2025: Representatives of Huawei Technologies (Finland) and Huawei Sports Science Lab Helsinki Research Centre visited the WearSense project team at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (FCET).

The guests included Jie Yin, President Huawei Finland Research, Yonghang Jiang, Head of the Sports Science Lab and Yuqiugu Hao, Technology Cooperation Manager with Huawei Partners. Huawei was welcomed by the dean Prof. Ante Jukić and vice-dean Prof. Ernest Meštrović, together with Prof. Ivana Murković Steinberg. 

The meeting was arranged to explore collaborative research opportunities on optical chemical sensors and biosensors for next generation wearable devices. The visitors were given a tour of the laboratories where the WearSense project team is developing optical chemical sensors and biosensors – and were able to perform hands-on experiments with some of the fascinating colour-change materials under development.
