Kristina Tolić Čop was born on March 27th, 1994 in Zagreb. She graduated from Gymnasium of Tituš Brezovački, in Zagreb. In 2012, she entered the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, undergraduate course - Applied Chemistry. She graduated at the same Faculty, master course in Applied Chemistry, in 2017 under the mentorship of Professor Dragana Mutavdžić Pavlović, Ph. D. During graduate study, in 2016 she received the Dean's Award for a prestigious student research work. Since December 2017, she has been an employee as an assistant at the Analytical Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology. In September 2018, she enrolled doctoral study in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the same Faculty. She defended her doctoral dissertation entitled Application of TiO2 photocatalyst for the removal of cytostatics from water in 2023 under the mentorship of prof. Dragane Mutavdžić Pavlović, Ph.D.

Her research activity with a main focus on environmental analytical chemistry based on a study of behavior and fate of organic pollutants – pharmaceuticals and application of photocatalysis for their removal, along with the development of chromatographic analytical methods, has resulted in eight publications, cited in the Current Contents database. As part of scientific research, she participated in eight scientific conferences and is principal investigator of 28 ungraduate and graduate theses. With the aim of popularizing science, she also conducted workshops at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology Open Days, the Science Festival, and the European Night of Researchers in Zagreb.
