Biography

Dr. Ivana Panžić, Ph.D., was born on July 7, 1987, in Split, where she completed her education at III. Gymnasium. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 2010 and her master's degree in 2012 at the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology (KTF), University of Split. In 2016, she enrolled in the doctoral program Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (FKIT), University of Zagreb. She defended her Ph.D. thesis, titled "Development of Nanostructured ZnO/TiO₂ Thin Films for Photovoltaic and Photocatalytic Applications," on January 7, 2021, in the field of natural sciences, specializing in chemistry.

She began her research career in 2012 at KTF, working in the Department of Analytical Chemistry as a research assistant. In 2016, she joined the Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB) as a Ph.D. researcher funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) in the Division of Materials Physics. In 2021, she started a postdoctoral research position at FKIT, in the Department of Inorganic Chemical Technology and Non-Metals (ZAKTN), contributing to national and international research projects led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vilko Mandić. From 2022 to 2024, she worked as a group leader and senior researcher at Materials Center Leoben Forschung GmbH (MCL), Leoben, Austria. Since October 2024, she has been employed as an assistant professor at FKIT, ZAKTN.
