Filip Car was born in Zagreb on October 10, 1992. He attended primary and secondary school in Zagreb. In June 2011, he was awarded the Faust-Vrančić State Prize for 1st place in the state competition in the field of chemical technology education in the profession of environmental technician. In January 2019, he graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb with a major in ecoengineering and a thesis on "Immobilisation of optical chemical sensors on plastic surfaces". He received the Rector's Award for the academic year 2016/17 for his thesis "Investigation of physical and chemical properties of polymers used in 3D printing". In February 2019, he enrolled in the postgraduate doctoral programme Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb and was employed as an assistant in the Department of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis at the same faculty. During his doctoral studies, he participated in a total of eight conferences, including one domestic conference with an oral presentation, two domestic conferences with international participation with poster presentations and five international conferences with three oral and two poster presentations. In July 2022, he was awarded the IAAM Young Scientist Medal by the International Association of Advanced Materials in the category Materials Processing & Manufacturing. Since April 2023, he has been working as a senior assistant in the Department of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis.
